EPA's Dirty Secret About The Environment on Earth Day
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 4/19/2013 | John Merline

Posted on 04/22/2013 4:30:58 AM PDT by IBD editorial writer

The Environmental Protection Agency late last month proposed strict new "clean fuel" standards on gasoline. The EPA said the so-called Tier 3 rule would cut emissions of smog-forming pollutants, as well as toxic emissions like benzene.

What the EPA didn't say was that levels of these pollutants have been falling steadily for years, and would continue to fall even without the new rule, which the oil industry says will cost tens of billions of dollars.

Indeed, a fact that won't get much attention on Earth Day — April 22 — is that pollution has been falling across the board for decades, even while the nation's population and economy have expanded.

I live in the most heavily populated area of Michigan along the I-94 corridor some 70 miles west of Detroit.

I sat here yesterday morning and watched a trio of bald eagles fishing in the lake.

I thought for sure IBD would take the time to point out Gaylord Nelson’s advice regarding immigration and the environment.

Earth Day is a pagan holiday that is leading to chaos. It is time to forget about Earth Day and get on with normal business and common sense.

Oh, it’s earth day! Thanks for the reminder!

I have a couple tires I was saving to burn on earth day. You know, send up some sweet incense for Gaia on her day of feasting!

Or, since those Gaia worshippers feel guilty for living, maybe it’s a day of fasting for them.

No fasting for me though! I’m grateful to be alive on the planet God made for me to subdue. I’m going to find an endangered species, kill it, and grill it!

Speaking of endangered species... IIRC the last known American example of Common Sense gave up the ghost... they stuffed and mounted it, and it’s on display at the Smithsonian.

But you can’t go see it, because they closed the exhibit. Sequester, you know. :-)

Why is the EPA’s budget never cut enough to hear about layoffs in this regulatory den of vipers?

Indeed.
There was a nesting pair of Bald Eagles that lived for YEARS near the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center, at one time, probably one of the Brightest, Noisiest, Busiest places on the Planet! LOL!

Not to mention how much the Manatees LOVE to hang out in the effluvia from the Nuke Plant in Palm Beach County. Its warmth actually saved their lives during the cooling of the oceans in the past few years.

And those Alaskan Caribou LOVE to make whoopie along the Pipeline, as the heaters that keep the crude flowing also provide a lovely warm place for romance.

If Gaia is indeed a “goddess”, she is a very powerful and resourceful lady, and has no need for the puny EPA.
