TIME 100: Rand Paul (By Sarah Palin)
TIME ^ | Sarah Palin

Rand Paul U.S. Senator, 50 By Sarah Palin

When the Tea Party movement wanted to send a message to the Senate in 2010, it elected a clear-sighted eye doctor from the Bluegrass State. In a D.C. too often defined by the venal equivocations of a permanent political class more interested in consolidating its own power than in upholding the Constitution or defending the common good, Senator Rand Paul is a voice of reason awakening the public to what must be done to restore our prosperity and preserve the blessings of liberty for future generations. His brand of libertarian-leaning conservatism attracts young voters, and recently he inspired the nation with his Capraesque filibuster demanding basic answers about our use of drones. I sent him some caribou jerky from Alaska to help keep up his strength on the Senate floor. There’s more where that came from for this bold Senator with 20/20 vision willing to take a stand for liberty.

Palin is a former governor of Alaska

Check out where “conservative” Rand Paul announced his intentions to run for the senate.

On May 1, 2009, Paul officially confirmed that if Bunning, whose fundraising in 2009 has matched his poor numbers in opinion polling for the 2010 election,[46] declined to seek a third term, he would almost certainly run in the Republican Party primary to succeed him,[47] and formed an exploratory committee soon after, while still promising to stay out of the race if Bunning had ultimately decided to run for re-election. Paul made this announcement on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, though a local Kentucky news site first broke the news.[48]

I take exception to being called a “jerk” and a “troll”.

I was not old enough to remember the Reagan admin so I have to rely on internet research. I am looking at actual sourced quotes and actions of Reagan and I can’t find anything to suggest he regretted what he did when he signed the 86 amnesty.

Unless there’s something in his diaries which I dont have access to.

Just because you dont like certain sourced and documented facts and quotes doesn’t make me - who is just looking at them objectively - a jerk.

That is very rude and I’m just trying to learn like I said i’m in my 30’s and consider myself a staunch conservative in the mold of the late great Robert Taft.

So what? He’s been on Alex Jones radio show numerous times doesn’t mean he’s a conspiracy theorist.

Also no one else would have him on his show.. Maddow was the best he could get.

That’s right: FOX and the GOP establishment in 2009 didn’t want Rand Paul.

Like I have said before Rand Paul is a pale imitation of the old man. He tries to fool people into believing he does not hold his old man’s views but he does. This will all come out if he decides to run for president. He’s also said drugs should be legalized. More liberal garbage will come later.

He has not said drugs should be legal. He does not support legalization.

He supports doing away with mandatory sentences but he said he would not support legalizing drugs.

His dad does support making drugs legal. This is a difference between them.

Rand is not a liberal. He’s a conservative like me in the tradition of Senator Taft. This makes him very principled even if you disagree with him he will stick to his guns and is taking traditional conservative positions. This is not liberal.

It seems to me, at this point, now that "We The People" can no longer even independently verify Presidential Election results, the Republic is lost, and will take another highly sanguinated purge (watering of the "Tree of Liberty") for us to take it back.

It can no longer be done at the Ballot Box.

........I agree with pretty much everything being said here but I wonder then “just who the hell should we have voted for in 2012?”

I would as soon take a bullet in the brain as vote for Obama. So, if Freepers cannot or should not vote for Romney, I guess we just stay home, like millions did.

The question remains would most conservatives rather have Romney in the WH or Obama and moose? Are we EVER going to get a 100% right-on candidate again?

We had no choice but to vote for Romney (at least those of us who knew Obama). But fraud Romney could not gain the confidence of the voters. Well, duh. It’s not like we weren’t warned. Rove and the GOP-e just had to have their way during the primaries. Funny that Rove was the first coward bawling his eyes on on national TV when HIS hand selected GOP-e RINO pooped out.

Rove is an absolute idiot!!

.........living in Austin for 60 odd years out of the past 65, and being a developer 40+ years of that, I have, on a couple of occasions been to a function where Rove was in attendance. I always make it a point to be sure I’m not somewhere where I will have to not shake his hand and make a scene.

Basically, Rove is for Rove and I question if he could put his country first, ever.

They are not ripe to fall in with us because of their "family values."

You left out that the only two things they like more than soccer is committing rape and driving drunk.

I see more clearly than ever that our conservative principles are in dire straights. If FReepers can’t see what amnesty will do this time around, and who is pushing it, what chance have we got?

We do see it. The Marxist is determined to push it through and he has GOP traitors supporting him.

The best Rand or anyone in the GOP can do is try to make it better, slow it down, delay it and subject it to more scrutiny so people can see ho bad it is.

The votes for Romney opened the doors for the GOP to Moderate. The result we see in GOP pushing / voting for Gun control, Supporting Gay marriage and immigration.

They heard us loud and clear when we collectively told them it was all OK. And thats what our votes for a man who supported ALL those things did. Make no mistake.

Rand is against the most effective means to stop the hiring of illegal immigrants..E-Verify. This alone tells me he is one of the worst traitors around regarding amnesty, and tells me(along with your carefully worded Reagan amnesty comments), that you are a TROLL.

I’m guessing he’s against it because it’s a massive government database and like me i’m wary of those.

So if you want e-verify you want to give the government more power and money (yes it costs something to setup)

I’m not a troll for gods sake. Stick to the issues. I’m here to learn and debate and more importantly to help organize action against the tyrants.

Check my history and you’ll see how I kept everyone here up to date on the gun control nonsense which we defeated.

I will help defeat this bill if you stand with me.

Sarah loves Rand, isn’t that special??

We better find out FAST who is willing to oppose this amnesty, because this is the LAST time conservatives will have any voice.

When I see Palin, or Paul or ANY of them expose the muslim loving corruption that is amnesty in the GOP (Rubio, McCain, Norquist, Conda, et al), I might support one of them, until then I’ll stick with Jeff Sessions, who Norquist insists he has ‘marginalized’.

“Paul personally views marriage as being between one man and one woman, but would support the repeal of DOMA, and work to ensure fair treatment of gay couples in terms of the tax code, health benefits, and visitation rights.[135]”

In otherwords cave into the sodomite lobby. There is no such thing as two sodomites getting “fair treatment of the tax code, health benefits, etc”.

This is what RINOs say when they are caving to queers. You give no quarter to perverts, which is justifying their immoral activities. Rand Paul does.

Robert “Neville Chamberlain” Taft also condemned the Nuremberg trials of Nazis.

“So I am open to finding a solution for kids that grew up in the USA once the border is secure. I hope that does not make me a traitor in your eyes. I am totally opposed to Rubios gang of 8 plan.”

Here’s the problem. The lobbyists that run the GOP have fought for 25 years to stop ALL enforcement. They write the bills...they wrote this amnesty.

Sixty-two percent of illegal aliens said they have a U.S.-born child, who are automatically granted citizenship.
http://news.yahoo.com/9-10-undocumented-immigrants-want-citizenship-poll-says-162025855—abc-news-politics.html

It’s too late to let them stay. There are too many. That’s 62% right there that would get to stay and become legal including their parents and siblings, legal or not. Then they can bring in all the rest of their family. They have to leave and take their kids or this country is changed forever.

There are approximately 350,000 anchor babies born every year. And every year that many become 18 and can vote.
The liberal/socialist lean of this nation will never be stopped if we don’t stop this mass immigration, jackpot baby nonsense.
