He should have volunteered to negotiate. Maybe even come to some “understanding” with these maligned people.
At the very least, he could have soaked up some bullets and shrapnel.

I think they didn’t use enough force. They should have had to sponge him off the inside of that boat.
Alive he can be turned into a treasure trove of information. Dead he is worthless.
I am astonished at the incompetence of the cops who allowed him to run down his older brother. The ones handcuffing the older brother had a duty to preserve the life of this valuable asset, instead of saving themselves and allowing him to be killed.
No "Hero" status for them, 'incompetent boob" is more like it.
