I’m married to a naturalized Cuban. They consider themselves superior to everyone.
And, in some ways, they are superior to your average bobble-headed, sports-addled American. They work incredibly hard and only look forward. They’re motivated by having seen Communism close-up.
I’ve found that first- and second-generation Japanese are as ambitious.
>They work incredibly hard
That’s not the problem.
The problem is that they work incredibly hard for $5 an hour to make somebody else rich and then make up the difference in Earened Income Tax Credits and other poverty subsidies from everybody else.
Hard workers, no doubt.
Unfortunately, they are also overwhelmingly Hard Left.
According to Pew Research, Japanese citizens vote 75% for the Democrat Party.
I heard a few stories directly from Cubans (I am sure that you have heard many more). They have seen communism up front and personal. If the illegal aliens were largely made up of people like them, then the discussion of "immigration reform" would not be a discussion.
The south-of-the-border (SOTB) illegals have grown up with socialism and corruption. To grant amnesty to them would give the Dem party a dominance that the leadership desires but a swarming criminal element that even the Dem party could not tame. The overwhelming attitude (yes I generalize) of the SOTB crowd has no love or appreciation of America. The Cuban immigrants, largely, on the other had do. understand America
