New Yrok was having a ‘drill’ on 911, if you recall. That’s one reason why there were several video positions of the first plane hitting tower two, first responder crews and tv crews were on scene for the ‘drill’.
Can we do without the conspiracy theories or the trutherism, please? The “drill” simply means that they had prepared for a major terrorist attack before (which was reasonable after the 93 attack) and had plans worked out for it. Obviously their plans weren’t anywhere near the scale of the attack, something for which the higher ups were responsible.
But please do not attempt to diminish the names of our 9/11 heroes, who risked everything (and lost) trying to save their fellow Americans from Muslim terrorists. Do you know that some of these people probably spent weeks dying, trapped in darkness, many of them burned or injured ( the lucky ones, because they would have died faster) with no water, and rats gnawing on them while they died alone and after days or weeks of suffering?
The cops found a site under the stairs (where people were protected from the collapse and probably took weeks to die) that nobody will even talk about. So shut up with the trutherism, please.
It was a Muslim attack, and we simply weren’t ready for it and the “drill” was outdated.
There were two French brothers who were filming a documentary about the New York Fire Department.
On September 11, 2001, the brothers, as part of their documentary, accompanied the firefighters to the scene of a reported gas leak near lower Manhattan. While on the scene, hijacked American Airlines Flight 11 flew overhead. One fireman looked up, then turned away. One of the French brothers videotaped American Flight 11 as it slammed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The firemen tending to the gas leak can be heard shouting, “Holy s-—!”
The brothers remained with the fire department during the unfolding catastrophe, and were present at the WTC during the rescue attempts and the subsequent collapse of the buildings. Their documentary, “9/11,” has aired on CBS several times over the years, most recently on September 11, 2011. I’ve seen the two-hour documentary several times over the years and it is riveting.
I did not know there was a drill going on on 9/11.
Strange how horrific things happen when (some) drills are conducted. Almost as if it were planned.
