Tom Tancredo’s eerie 2008 presidential ad that foreshadows the Boston marathon bombings

WASHINGTON — Former Rep. Tom Tancredo made a video in his 2008 presidential election bid warning of “spineless politicians” who are not doing enough to protect the borders and what can happen.

The television ad, now on Youtube, mentions Russia, has people walking around — and leaving — black nylon backpacks in crowded areas, and has a frightening sound of a bomb going off at the end of the ad.

Tancredo’s point is inaccurate: The two suspects in the Boston marathon bombing were not in the U.S. illegally; both were U.S. residents.

But Tancredo, who was also a candidate for Colorado governor in 2010, decided to Tweet out his 2008 video again Friday with the hashtag #bostonbombing. “Caused by spineless politicians not enforcing our laws already on the books” he Tweeted.
