RUSH: “Who’s Bill Ayers?” It’s a good question. People may not know who Bill Ayers is. Bill Ayers is a resident of Chicago. Bill Ayers is widely thought to have introduced Barack Obama to the powers that be in Chicago that enabled his political career to begin. Such introductions, parties, took place at Bill Ayers’ house, which was in Obama’s neighborhood.
I think Ayers and his wife babysat the Obama crumb crunchers. Bill Ayers’ one-time girlfriend, Diana Oughton, “and one other member in the Greenwich Village townhouse explosion, while constructing anti-personnel bombs intended for a non-commissioned officer dance at Fort Dix, New Jersey.” “[I]n 1969, Ayers participated in planting a bomb at a statue dedicated to police casualties in the 1886 Haymarket affair,” dedicated to police casualties. Bill Ayers in 1969 was part of the sixties generation that hated the cops, called ‘em pigs.
Bill Ayers celebrated, memorialized efforts to kill cops and actually planted a bomb at a statue dedicated to police casualties. “[T]he blast broke almost 100 windows and blew pieces of the statue onto the nearby Kennedy Expressway.” “Ayers participated in the bombings of New York City Police Department headquarters in 1970, the United States Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972...” “Some media reports and political critics have suggested that Ayers, Dohrn or the Weathermen were connected to the fatal 1970 San Francisco Police Department Park Station bombing ...”
So that’s why I say Bill Ayers got his start this way. Bill Ayers now is a leading figure in American education, textbook design, creation, authorship. Bill Ayers. In fact, I have a story in the Stack today about Ayers saying America’s days are over — and that’s good! My only point is that it’s yesterday’s terrorists who are today’s heroes to the left — and got their start exactly this way, exactly this way as happened in Boston on Monday.

Larry’s book has been updated and reprinted. Either came out a few weeks ago or is coming out now. Original title was “Bringing Down American: An FBI Informer with the Weathermen”, Larry Garthwohl as told to Frank Reagan, Arlington House Publishers.

In my college days, I had contact with both SDS and those who became the Weathermen. The average SDSer was just a liberal with gas, but those who became WUO were psychopaths.
I was amazed at the amount of hate they had in their faces, and how they bought the communist propaganda about “class warfare”, hook, line and sinker.
Remember, they were smart individuals, in their studies and in their ability to manipulate people/the public and especially the media (esp. in Hollywood). They knew what they were doing and most of the WUO top leaders and members have never abandoned their marxist ideology (Ayers admits this; Dohrn, his wife, is even a more psychopathic individual but she let’s Bill do all the talking. That’s why she is smarter than him. With him getting all the attention, she is basically ignored but all the indications are that she is still the real brains behind the revived WUO network. Her sister Jennifer, was almost as bad, and Ayer’s younger brother was also an SDSer whose role in the organization has never really been explored.
Just for your information, an FBI raid on the WUO’s main bomb factory (the first in Greenwich Village blew up in March 1970, killing Diana Oughton, Terry Robbins, and one other) in San Francisco in 1971 (the Pine Street Bomb Factory), helped the FBI to find the fingerprints of the following WUO members on bomb making equipment:

* William Charles Ayers (Bill Ayers)
* Kathie Boudin (daughter of secret Communist Party USA member Leonard Boudin). She served time for the Nyack, NY Brinks Truck Robbery and killings, was released, and is a professor at Columbia Un., etc.

* John Willard Davis
* David Joseph Gilbert - serving life for the Brinks killings
* Naomi Esther Jaffe
* Michael Thomas Justesen
* Howard Norton Machtinger (possibly deceased now)
* Julie Nichamin - up to her red ass in Cuban activities
* Jeffery David Powell
* Sheldon Rosenbaum
* Mark William Rudd - for many years a teacher in New Mexico and still one of the brains of the revived WUO new movement
* Michael Louis Spiegel
* LAwrence Michael Weiss
* Cathlyn Platt Wilkerson - wrote a book about her experiences - served jail time
Due to legal problems with the search, this evidence was not admissible in court for prosecution
However, the killing of Officer McConnell has been reopened and Bernadine Dohrn is the main suspect, according to Larry Grathwohl in his testimonies and public statements.
Remember, Ayers/Dohrn held the first fundraising party for Barack Obama’s Illinois senate race in their house (which is near where the Obama’s live in their $1.1 million dollar house that is mortgage-owned by one of felon Tony Rezko’s friends).
