Are enemy combatants and traitors entitled to Miranda rights Please show evidence that he is an enemy combatant. Terrorists are not, in my view.
Do you know any traitors? I do, and was a key witness in the trial that put him away for life (he died in prison).
Reportedly he naturalized last 9-11 so he can't be an enemy combatant. But as a US citizen he
could be a traitor. "Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort," says the Constitution. Darn few treason convictions in US history, yet I'm not surprised to see FR has someone experienced in such. Kudos for helping nail your bastard! Based on your experience, what would you think of adding treason to his list of charges?
As an aside I feel Miranda rights have been taken too far, but I'm not aware of any exemption from them for unconvicted traitors. Once convicted I'd give traitors everything allowed when the 8th was ratified.
