The FBI revealed on Friday that they had interviewed Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev in 2011, after a foreign government alerted officials that he had possible ties to extremists.
Federal officials vetted Tamerlan Tsarnaev but their probe not produce any 'derogatory' information and the matter was put 'to bed,' a U.S. law enforcement source said.
The revelation is the first indication that Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his younger brother, Dzhokhar, were known to U.S. security officials prior to Monday's bombings, U.S. authorities said.

Knock it off the system worked !!!
Epic fail for Obama.
The system worked? So that's what all those explosions and flying body parts were all about.
Aw, heck. The F, the B, and the I were probably busy infistrating Tea party groups in search of heavily armed right wing terrorists, and didn’t have time to bother with any low level Islamic terrorists. Eric the Red Holder keeps track of the priorities, you knowexcept when he doesn’t, of course.
I wanna puke....
Hey, the muzzie-terrorists are his friends and Nobama ain't gonna rat out his friends!
Probably because they were not allowed to look too deeply into his past, or ask pointed questions because that would be insensitive to his Islamic sensibilities... Political Correctness is going to KILL us all.
Total failure of government, total failure of our out of control immigration policies.
this is why I want him to live, I want to hear what the truth is and not what the regime puts out.
oh and the American media are a joke
Yes that is exactly right this is ALL ABOUT IMMIGRATION now. This was a total failure of the immigration system. The borders need to be locked down, and everyone immigrating from known global terror hotspots needs triple scrutiny...
weird how the facts never get out
What foreign gov't and what specific extremists?
“Political Correctness is going to KILL us all.”
Despite our huge federal government, the layers of state and municipal governments in MA, the bomb sniffing dogs and military personnel at the marathon, a bomb was planted, went off and killed people including a little kid.
Let me guess: the solution to all this will be a NEW government agency and more laws....
Begs the question(s) . . .just how much did the 2006 affirmative action push to heavily recruit Muslim agents into the FBI affect the decision to close the file on Tamarin two years ago?
How many other FBI files w/jihad questions have been closed - opening the potential for untold carnage from copycat jihadi-wanna-bes with 'Allah-sized-chips-on their-shoulders' are we to bear as a result of this politically correct suicidal policy?
There is no way the FBI would clear a person interviewed without direct orders from President Obama.
That’s not true, but his policies have led to a lower of security. I.E. allowing knives back on planes...
He was found to be Obama-compliant
The Liberal Media will be in overdrive covering the administration’s butt. The good news is Obama can have a great golfing weekend.
The jackass is way too busy tearing down the Constitution.
This is not your daddy’s FBI. The G-Men of the J. Edgar Hoover era have become a politicized farce, wasting resources on witch hunts and ignoring real threats in the name of political correctness. They learned nothing from 9-11. What a disgrace.
What government?...what "officials"?...who interviewed?...what techniques were used?...who kept followup information/tabs?...how many such "suspects" lived in the proximity of the event and immediately came to mind from such a recent interview/interrogation?...etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.,...
There needs to be massive firings at all levels of government that were charged with protecting the people of Boston, starting in the immigration department.
Barry and Janet and Hillary and Eric.
There you go. Shemp and Sean are already making excuses for the little coward. His older brother made him do it. That’s going to be his defense. His brother was a boxer and would beat him up when he didn’t do as he was told.
Obomber is in it knee deep. The Benghazi-Boston combo!
Knock it off the system worked !!!
No it didn't.
The FBI was incompetent, just like the intelligence services prior to 911. The muslim terrorist bastards are treated courteously like ordinary citizens, rather than killing machines visiting our country to kill people.
Are you a terrorist?"
"No, I'm not."
OK. Have a nice day!"
Is no longer gonna cut it.
They were too busy persecuting Christians to be bothered with Islamic terrorist cells.
Pray for America to Wake Up
Something about this whole thing smells of Butch Napolitano and Eric the Corrupt. Is this one of their sting operations where they arrest two or three rubes that they sold fake bomb part to or a sting operation where they were stung by someone smarter and sneakier that they are? There’s just something hinky about this whole matter that just doesn’t ring true.
All I know is I do NOT want to see any more “press briefings” filled with government agents all thanking and praising each other on what a great job they’ve all done.
From top on down, excluding the FR’s, they should be hanging their heads in shame.
The bigger takeaway lesson here is that the government can send everyone to their room — their “shelter in place” and tell every traveler “you’re grounded.” Ostensibly because of one rabid animal.
Look the agents could have recommended he be deported and it was pushed up the chain to this guy and his left leaning sicko CARI loving attorneys
Holders former firm, Covington & Burling represented 14 Gitmo detainees. Still looking to see which ones:
Guantanamo Bay Detainees
We currently represent fourteen men detained at the United States Naval Station at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. Most of the men have been detained for approximately eight years and none have been charged with any crimes. Following the decision by the Supreme Court in Boumediene v. Bush, 128 S. Ct. 2229 (2008), holding that the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus extends to detainees held at Guantánamo Bay, we are challenging the legality of our clients detentions in habeas proceedings in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Of the seven cases that have gone to merits hearings thus far, Covington has won four, lost two, and is awaiting a decision in one other. Two prior clients were released without a hearing.
The firm has been involved in the Guantánamo related litigation for the last six years. In addition to the on-going habeas corpus proceedings, our efforts have included: bringing cases for review of enemy combatant classification decisions in the D.C. Circuit under the Detainee Treatment Act of 2005; challenging the destruction of CIA torture tapes in federal court; filing amicus briefs and coordinating the amicus effort in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, 548 U.S. 557 (2006); filing amicus briefs in support of Supreme Court review in Moussaoui v. United States, 382 F.3d 483 (4th Cir.), cert denied, 544 U.S. 931 (2005); challenging the governments practice of redacting information from documents given to security-cleared habeas counsel; and challenging the abusive medical and living conditions that the detainees experience at Guantánamo.
I believe the CCR represented him. The CCR has strong ties to Covington & Burling:
And then there is the Center for Constitutional Rights, a Marxist organization that for years has coordinated legal representation for terrorists detained at Guantanamo Bay. The CCR has been attempting to convince Germany, France, Spain, and other countries to file war-crime indictments against former Bush administration officials, including President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and Secretary Rumsfeld. In representing Americas enemies, CCR has collaborated with many private lawyers, who also volunteered their services several of whom are now working in the Obama Justice Department. Indeed, Holders former firm boasts that it still represents 16 Gitmo detainees (the number was previously higher). And, for help shaping detainee policy, Holder recently hired Jennifer Daskal for DOJs National Security Division a lawyer from Human Rights Watch with no prior prosecutorial experience, whose main qualification seems to be the startling advocacy she has done for enemy combatants
Jennifer Daskal is an American lawyer who serves as senior counsel for Human Rights Watch, and focuses on issues of terrorism, criminal law and immigration. She is also currently a political hire at the Department of Justice, which is seeking to prosecute terror suspects through the criminal justice system instead of through military tribunals.
A graduate of Harvard Law School, Cambridge and Brown University and a Marshall Scholar, Daskal garnered attention after traveling to the countries to which Guantanamo captives have been released, to verify that those countries are abiding by the undertakings they made to the US Government to respect the returned captives human rights.
On February 23, 2010, the New York Post reported that Daskal, Neal Katyal, and three other lawyers who had worked on behalf of the civil rights of Guantanamo captives, had been serving on the Obama administrations task force reviewing the status of the remaining Guantanamo captives. The paper had first questioned her appointment to the Department of Justices National Security Division, in July 2009, and then again in January 2010
No other country in the world --- NONE--- would tolerate decades of infiltration by groups from countries KNOWN to be inimical to the host country.
Why should we spend wealth "triple-scrutinizing them?
Just keep all their asses out altogether!
Why were we educating those killers, anyway?
ExACTAMUNDO! PC and diversity ‘awareness’. Twin accomplices in the wussification of America.
I can guarantee that the way this Manhunt was handled here in Massachusetts wouldn’t fly in Texas. Locking people in their homes... I’d say the Texans would have been armed and gunned down these bastards before they could do any more harm. Just another reason to arm every citizen. A well armed civilian populace is every terrorist’s and tyrant’s greatest fear...
“I can guarantee that the way this Manhunt was handled here in Massachusetts wouldnt fly in Texas.”
It’s not flying well with me, but I’m probably the exception here in jihadland.
I’m, almost, inclined to believe that the FBI was ordered to let the guy flee until late friday night thereby avoiding an embarrassing news cycle...almost.

No. And i had to google that to find out who he was...

Head in the ground kills.
“Is this your first day on the internet? “
Ha ha, very funny. I never heard of the guy.
Haven’t seen Butch Napolitano parading her fat a$$ around saying that we are safer than we ever were.
Far as I recall no muslim involvement was ever deemed a factor there.
However, that pales in comparison to the hundreds of atrocities commited by koranimals in the US, and tens of thousands worldwide.
The 80% of the koranimals that continue to perpetrate atrocities, or their supporters, give the 5% of truly civilized muslims a bad name.
I want to see Holder (and Mueller) in the next hearing...should be interesting.
