As it is, the average American tax burden is 27.3 percent, or about three times what the founders considered unconscionable, and that figure is misleading because it's skewed by a tiny minority paying much higher rates and sums, so the government can zero out income taxes for almost 50 percent of Americans. Maybe so, but don't think from that factoid that those who get a full refund from the Feds don't still pay a pile of taxes.
I'd like all my FICA back, please... doubt I'll ever see a dime from that.

I say everyone gives them 10%, Period. No sales tax, no other crap. 10% flat tax period. End of story. That covers fed, state, county and city. They can divvy it up. If they can’t manage with that then they need to step down and let a more clever person have their position.
And I don’t give a damn how poor you are. 10%. That way you’ll be thinking about what happens to YOUR money when it’s time to vote.

I believe there is a direct connection between a tax rate and freedom. 50% tax rate = 50% freedom. How much freedom are we willing to lose?
