In the old sailing ship days, sailors who couldn’t get along tended to just disappear one dark night. Very mysterious.

I was just reading about an incident during sail.
The rule on the ship was no gambling but some did
anyway, two got into a fight and one of them knifed
the other. The captain had the murderer bound to
his victim and then threw them both over board.
Swift justice in those days.
