I have a long memory. To this day, I don’t frequent several gun shops because of their dealings during the ammo shortage a couple of years ago. I’m not buying now because I stocked up last year when the price was right and it was readily available. Not using too much for practice and will add to the stock when the shortage eventually ends. Standardizing you weapons helps as I only have 4 types of ammo to stockpile.

Yep. I sold some guns I really didn't want to for this reason. I'm using the money to buy ammo if it ever becomes available again.

I take a slightly different approach.

I want to be able to use whatever I can recover, or find in an emergency, so I have 5.56x45mm (can also use .223), 7.62x39mm, .22LR, 9mm, .45ACP and 12 gauge

Bingo. That is what I did.

I'm doing something similar can I ask which four ー I've focused on 12 gage, 410, .22, and .45. 30-30 or 30-06 were up for debate but put on hold due to finances.

You don't suggest that you are selling any ammo. You must value the ammo at a price higher than the market will pay.

Would you sell me a brick of .22lr for $1,000,000?

If you would pay me that price, I would certainly sell you some.
