'Storm Thorgerson, whose album cover artwork includes Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon, has died aged 69, the band's management has confirmed.
A childhood friend of the founding members of the band, he became their designer-in-chief, fashioning a string of eye-catching creations.
Most-famously he designed the prism spreading a spectrum of colour across The Dark Side Of The Moon.
His credits also include albums by Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel and Muse.'

Love the prism that represents Pink Floyd... i always thought it had something to do with the band members’ academic education... they seem intelligent to me...
Thorgerson also did “Wish You Were Here” with the burning guy I believe, he did some great work.
RIP
“Wish You Were Here” now takes on a whole new meaning. RIP.
One of my favorites from Pink Floyd.
"Yeah yeah, good songs Pink Floy or whatever ya name is, but I need you guys to lose the instruments, throw in a dance beat and get up there wearing just pilots mics and we'll throw in some gay dancers as well..."
"Oh oh oh The lunatic is on the grass...PUT CHA HANDS IN THE AIIIR..The lunatic is on the grass. ..TAKE IT ROGEY..Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs....wooo hoooo yoo yo yo...Got to keep the loonies on the path..(sung with Autotune of course)
There is no dark side of the moon. In fact, it’s all dark. :)
All private school educated, all university graduates.
One of the best albums ever recorded, bar none.
I call it the suicide album, it’s so depressing. Meh.
Also, Alan Parsons was the album engineer and the one who suggested Clare Torry to do the vocals in “The Great Gig in the Sky.”
RIP.
i love that! i am not surprised... as a classical homeschooling mom, i relish the idea that no matter what my boys end up doing for a living, (and it does not have to be just one career choice that spans their working years) they will be well-read, well-versed... able to truly think deep thoughts and communicate with all walks of life...
