But if we had a government committed to telling the truth and reporting the facts, then wouldn’t the press follow suit?

People have the right to elect the kind of government they want... it’s a free country. We have the right to object to some of the excesses...
The media in a free country can report however they want to - that’s what makes us free. But in the media’s case, since they should be governed by the laws of supply and demand - it would be in their best interest to report fairly and to present both sides. Their choice - but it they’re unfair, they’ll lose readers and viewers. Like any other business they have the right to make bad choices...
