Could be a state/local vs. fed issue or something more nefarious.
After putting on my foil fez, I wonder if 0 and the Saudi had a little discussion about the possible end of the petrodollar.
Maybe the people running the investigation are pissed that the politicians stole their only lead in the case, the Saudi national, and whisked him out of the country, due to his family connections. And they don’t have anything else they’re permitted to say to the press at this time. As usual, politics trumps everything else.
