I would think that, at the end, a person looks back and says "What did I accomplish?" I'd like to think that 100 years from now, my grandkids will be telling their grandkids all about "Grandpa WBill! Lemme tell ya about these pancakes he made on Saturday mornings!! He'd make them, and then we'd go fishing and...." and so on....

Whereas this harpy's legacy will be all of 2 inches in next Wednesday's Police Beat.

One can only hope that she sees the harm she has done before she reaches that end. She and her husband once gave me a ride back to Simkins dorm from Scholz’s way back when. They, a friend and were talking politics—about the war— for a short while. I had forgotten their name until much later when my friend reminded me. They and a colleague of his were sitting with them when I had sat down. My friend said they had thought me strange. Which I was—and am,but I remember nothing about my conversation with them.
