Your estimation is incorrect. They don’t view themselves as above the law. They view themselves as The Law. There is a subtle yet very important difference.

Think of your neighbors as people who possibly voted for Obama. How many of them fit the description? They are who I’m talking about.

Citizens, learn to recognize these instruments the coming tyranny. When you get the chance to, get as close as possible to them so you may learn both their strengths AND their weaknesses so that when the time comes you can destroy them as well as those who would use them to make slaves of you and those that you love.
Pass that knowledge along in any way that you can to other freedom loving Patriots. When you learn where they are stored, shout it as far and as wide as you can. Shun those who work on, in, or around them. Mock them. Ridicule them. Point them out. Shout out their names. Mark their homes. Refuse to do business of any kind with them.
Make them pariahs in their own communities. Make them live in the same kind of fear they intend for you. Give them no peace. Give them no quarter. Show them no mercy and feel no remorse.
Given things like Fast & Furious, the Affordable Care Act ruling, and now the gun-control debates... I think argument can be made to the effect that the entirety of the government generally views itself as above the law.
Why does that belief make me want to break The Law? ;)
When did it becoem legal for a doctor to break their doctor patient confidentiality law? Why are doctors now informantsw rather than folsk concerned abotu doign no harm to the indiciviuals they treat?

There NEVER WAS a legal doctor patient relationship. Most of us respect patient privacy out of ethics but it is not a legally protected relationship. Even HIPPA did NOT change that. Only a priest or a lawyer could tell a judge to go to hell.

Its the same old crap...People we don't know are busy negotiating away our rights just for the sake of their own glory...That's the main reason I gave up on the "NRA" some years ago...To quick to give away something that don't belong to them..!!

It became law in 1996 when they passed HIPAA. That was only the first step. Subsequent laws and interpretations of the regulations have gone even further.
HIPAA is designed to control who accesses your records, not ensure privacy. It controls when and how you can access the records and does a decent job of requiring the health industry to protect your records. Many of which would never spend the money to protect them otherwise.
It also gives the govt full access to your records for just about any reason they can think of. However they cannot put the information in a press release like they have done recently.

In my more paranoid moments I wonder how many accounts were created for use at “the right time”. There seem to be more posts from old accounts that don’t have much of a posting history.

Can not expect a racist, socialist fascist group like runs much of the U.S. to behave outside their beliefs.
Vote in a socialist-fascist, don’t be surprised if they work to suppress freedoms and prosperity (except for themselves of course).
