According to the national archives: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty . . .
It's the unalienable right to life (endowed by our Creator - a much higher authority than Congress or the White House) that gives us the natural right to keep and bear arms in defense of that life and our liberty. Those of us who cling to God and guns have an unalienable right to do so, and we cling a whole lot more strongly than the amoral left seems capable of understanding.
