What I don’t understand is why the real Baptist Church allows these clowns to besmirch their official name. A real lawsuit should make short work of these nimrods.
Westboro aren’t Christian at all. They are a cult known as Tachomites(sp?) Who have their own unique scriptures and consider themselves gods with the power to judge. They are pretty close to Branch Dividians.

Because there is no one real Baptist Church. No one organization sanctions Baptist congregations. If they don't choose to associate with a cooperative group like the Southern Baptists then there is nobody to say that they are or aren't a Baptist church.

Jesus said in Matthew 7 (sermon on the mount), to judge righteous judgement (as opposed to hypocritical judgement. Non hypocritical, righteous Judgement is important.
I don’t think the Westboro cult practices this.
Jesus issued the “woes” to the scribes and pharasees, He called them Hypocrites.
He warned at the end of the Sermon on the Mount, that not everyone who calls him Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but those that do the will of His Father.
Many will say, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and cast out devils in thy name, and in thy name done many wonderful works?”
His response: “Be gone from me, ye that work iniquity. I never knew you.”
I tremble when I read those words. I would hope that every Christian does.

There is no “real” Baptist church in the sense that there’s a real Catholic church — there are various independent organizations, none of which can claim exclusive rights to the name “Baptist” (e.g., Southern Baptist Convention, 1st Baptist Church, 2nd Baptist Church, etc.)
Honestly? They have a law firm in Topeka. Phelps Chartered. They specialize in family and divorce law, if you can believe that, as well as criminal law and bankruptcies.

As a former Baptist, I agree. They're no more Baptist than I am a supermodel.
Everything they do is geared to garnering attention, and having people react negatively enough to give them cause for a lawsuit to support their continuing aberrant behavior.
That's their MO these days to get the media attention they want. Depending on how far they have to travel, they usually never show up........
About a year and a half ago, their website said they were going to protest the death of a soldier in my little home town in northern Michigan. Of course it was publicized and the Patriot guard were there, but the Westboro Wackos never showed up.
