I'm somewhat troubled that someone hasn't stepped forward to take responsibility for this attack. I would think if it were an organized terror group, they might've done so by now.
This leads me to believe it might be some domestic group (or domestically planned). Is there any thought that this could be an attack that WILL be attributed to a right-wing, Tea Party, pro-2nd Amendment group? Could it become Obama's "Kristalnacht?"

Interesting theory, but I don’t see targeting the Boston Marathon as something that a right wing group would find attractive.

One of Al Qaeda's hallmarks in the past was to never accept responsibility for its attacks. Remember that after 9/11, the organization did not do so, leading to the rise of the idiot 9/11 troofers, until THIS was captured and released:
Osama Bin Laden Admits Planning 9/11 in Meeting with Egyptian Terrorist
...and even then the Troofers claim that it is fake and that 9/11 was an inside job.
