This reads like a Brady press release. Even IF it's true, so what - price of freedom.

It’s the Center for American Progress. Expecting truth out of them is like expecting not to be burned by molten lava.

And yet Chicago is the murder capital of the US. Or is it NYC? I am calling complete BS on this article.

It is unfortunate that the WSJ would stoop to creating and publishing this article. It reports with insufficient critical examination a “study” that avoids basic factors any truly scientific study would consider. Specifically, there are no demographic data used in the analyses. I have no doubt the organization that is promoting this propaganda is using data to give a pseudo-legitimacy to their agenda. It is not research by any stretch of the imagination—it is propaganda masquerading as research. If you control for demographic composition of the populations in each state, what happens to the results—can you guess? And, consider the concentration of homicides in each state—could urban areas play a role-—can you guess?

I’ve often found that liberal “facts” on ‘gun violence’ include suicides, justifiable killings by both citizens and police, and deaths in which a gun was merely present but not used.

More BS from the left.

Lets take New Orleans (Little Chicago) out of the Louisiana equation and see how it ranks.

Call total lib BS on this article.

These propaganda pieces are just a small part of the socialist push. The socialists are hoping and hoping for another crazy person to go on an attack and harm a lot of innocents. It would be just the thing they need in this moment to push them over the top in their drive to forever destroy individual liberty through self-defense. It would be the jewel in the progressive crown of legislative usurpation of freedom.

Among the reasons for the poor grade are the fact that the state does not require a waiting period for gun purchases or prohibit the sales of assault weapons or high-caliber rifles.

The writer stated this in the last sentence with no source to back it up as if it were fact.

No bias here, no way....

Anything to deceive by biased groups.

A better “map” would be gun violence per county, coded red and blue per voting patterns. Also a map with and without restrictive gun laws, as well as analysis of how many are committed in ‘gun free zones”

Whaddya bet blue outscores red on the violence meter?

As usual, the anti-gunners are counting all deaths from gunfire as gun violence, including self-defense shootings, and justifiable shootings by police.

What is wrong with this data presentation:

1) no accounting for defensive gun use
2) no separation of data for lawful use of a gun resulting in death
3) no separation of data for dem controlled cities / counties
4) no accounting for overall violent crime rate (rape, assault, etc)

I could go on but this is cherry picking the data at it’s worst.

I bet these stats include a lot of folks who needed killin’ (i.e. shootings in self defense).
The Brady Bunch is like that.

This doesn’t smell right.
There’s no way to measure gun density per capita and a correlation to gun death, since most guns are owned without documentation.
Plus, an entire state is affected by gun deaths, when it is actually a few square miles of urban zone that account for the majority of injuries.
Then you have states like Utah, Idaho and Wyoming with very high gun per capita densities, that don’t make the list.

This survey is too uncontrolled. It sounds bogus.

It also turns out that compared to other buildings and institutions, hospitals tend to have the highest rate of death by disease, so you should avoid them (and maybe they should be eliminated) to preserve your health.

If you would remove all Obama voters from this country, our crime rate would be 1/10th of what it is now....just saying.

The elephant in the room is the cities where these muders happening are in democratic controlled areas. The majority of the victims and perps are black.
