PHILADELPHIA Take five or 10 minutes, the professor said, and write down things that you love, like, need or enjoy.
Now pair up with someone you dont know and spend 20 minutes introducing yourself. Talk about whatever you want. But dont mention anything that you wrote down.
Try going on for a half-hour without a word about the most important things in life. Imagine a full day.
It might be difficult, said instructor Robin Brennan. Thats what this course is about. That is just a glimpse of what it is like for somebody who is LGBT lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.
The course is about LGBT health disparities, many of which such as higher-than-average rates of suicide, drug addiction and smoking are linked to greater stress. Fear of sharing personal information, even with a doctor, doesnt help.

No...I’m transgender. You’ve probably never noticed it because I only touch on it on “LGBT” threads when I get annoyed by the actions of these jerks who’ve taken it upon themselves to represent me.
Transgenders - people who present sex-confusion from the start - are probably around 50% conservative. Drag Queens - people who present after puberty - are around 99% liberal. They’re fetishists, while transgenders have mental defects.
And it’s pretty bad. It ruined my life and actually IS what I would wish on my worst enemy. But it’s like being born without arms - there’s no walking away from it because even if I could walk away from my brain, transgenders almost always have secondary sex characteristics that have to be pushed toward male.
Fortunately, I fall into the 30% of transgenders who only date women. That’s pretty much the only thing I’m thankful about.lol
But, politically, I’m probably pretty much the same as you. Giving minors hormones is child abuse. There is no such thing as “gay marriage”. LGBT people should not have any law pertaining to them specifically: one set of laws for everyone, period. If a business ever asked me to leave, I’d leave - they have the right to refuse service to me. And %#%$# off with the parades, already. There’s nothing to be proud of in being LBG or T.
If someone with no arms came up to me and demanded a parade where they got to run up and down the streets in their underwear to celebrate their pride in their defect, I’d tell them to pull their head out of their ass on their way to going-to-hell.
There’s some harsh talk at FR but I don’t mind. You know why? Because I’ve never had a problem with a conservative in real life. And my father was in a management position at Focus On The Family for 12 years. They’re good people.
All I have to do is treat people how I want to be treated: with civility. I don’t demand that people participate in my delusion.
Every time I’ve had a problem, though, it’s with a liberal. They like to think they’re open minded but, they’re the jerks who end up causing problems for people like me.
I’m sorry if I tripped either of you out. I’ve been a FReeper so long, I’m used to everyone knowing.

I know the sodomites get mad when I make this comparison, but it is fully accurate.
A pedophile can make the same arguments this professor says apply to a homo.
You are right on target. This axiom is entire appropriate concerning these self-absorbed reprobates.
“Great Minds Discuss Ideas; Average Minds Discuss Events; Small Minds Discuss People.”
I’m fine with whatever you do. Because its your life and not my business to judge. I was confused because I’ve been here a while and lurked for a long time prior to signing up. I thought I remembered your homepage once saying that you had that photo up of you as a joke or a trick...Hence my confusion.
Anyway, all kinds of people have all kinds of quirks, kinks, drives, urges, etc. Some, like yours, are more visible than others, but everyone has something others would find “different”. That’s why the judge-y people here who squawk the loudest are so absurd. I’m sure they all have their own stuff they hide from others.
Thanks for your candor.
I know what you mean about judge-y people but, to be honest, I’d rather see people slightly too wound-up about the LGBT subject, than not wound-up enough.
I’ve spent time in the belly of the LGBT beast and I can assure you, the strident insanity that bleeds through in media reports on their activities is no where near as bad as it actually is.
Their goals undermine society as a whole and create dangerous situations. And like unions, they have no idea when to stop and they don’t care.
If they have problems speaking about what is important to them, then it's a sure sign that they are ill.
I have no problem speaking about my sex life to my doctor (or I would if I actually had one. Being widowered doesn't allow me to have sex). And that's OK. it' such a miniscule part of my life that it's unimportant.
But to the 'homosexual' it is the sole defining characteristic of their life and EVERYTHING revolves around that one facet.
BTW, the instructors exercise was futile. He had teh class do small talk for 20 minutes. If you're not 'homosexual' and obsessed with sex, this is a very easy thing to do. I can talk on the weather for at least 20 minutes. I don't know a single person who goes up to a stranger and starts in on what's personally important to them (Lone exception being during evangelizing).
