I drive by a lot of construction in my neighborhood all the time, you are correct about the migrant workers... I don’t think I remember seeing anything but Hispanics.
It is truly a shame of the entitlement that the Americans think they are entitled to. Sickens me for sure...
A while back was a consultant on a large CA commercial construction project. There were crews working that spoke six different languages. Generally only the super spoke English, and he not too well.
Not surprising they had the problems I was there to address. It was a regular Tower of Babel.
Guess you’re just fine with the entitlement employers though.
Growing up in Central Florida we’d get up at midnight during a frost to set smudge pots. In the Spring we would pick fruit on the weekends and after school. Worked 12 hour shifts during the fruit “run” too. People don’t do this work to raise families (some get stuck) but you use it as a building block. This article may have merit, but how low has our work ethic become? My daughter is 17 and works at a Pizza Hut. So what? She’s not going to make a career out of it!
