All these reports of declining “PC” sales are a little deceptive when tablets are counted in a separate category. Tablets are personal computers, though smaller and with less functionality in most cases. But the more expensive ones are practically just smaller PCs.
Just because desktop or laptop or notebook sales might decline while table sales increase, that doesn’t equal declining personal computer sales, just a shift in the platform for a portion of PC sales.
On a desktop with Win 8, Pokki is very handy. It give you the “start” button they got rid of and makes it easy to navigate just like in Win 7. When you are using Win 8 with a tablet, you don’t need that. I’m not a fan of the tiles on a desktop PC. But it is good to have an OS that works for both desktop and tablets, so you can use your apps on either. That is a drawback to iPads and OSX.
