It’s being reported that Connecticut AR-15 manufacturer Stag Arms may be following Colt Competition and PTR Industries and leaving the state.

The Associated Press is reporting that Mark Malkowski, president of Stag Arms, spoke Tuesday with Texas economic development officials trying to lure the company, which was founded in 2003 and employs more than 200 employees.

“It’s something we’ll strongly consider,” he said, adding that leaving Connecticut would be difficult. “If you’re a lawyer with a laptop, that’s one thing,” he said. “It’s not something we’re going to do easily.”

“May” leave???

How about stopping with the trial balloons, pulling up chocks and getting the hell out of Dodge? Feints and threats amount to nothing.

We got plenty of room in Rockwall, TX. They’d be welcome.

It isn’t that easy. Especially in this economy a business has to be able to afford, have lawyers check contracts and leases, find a place to move, and deal with the logistics of setting up shop somewhere else.

In the 1860-70’s facing a similar rogue Federal Government and outside controlled State Government people voted with their feet. They left carved on the cabin door “GTT”. Gone to Texas.

It is time for people of like mind to stand together. This insanity must end, in order for the nation to survive.

Daylight and exposure of the enemies of the nation is the solution.

Colt? Ruger? Pony up boys. It’s time to get out of Dodge and head someplace where your business is appreciated. And to think that this section of the country was the cradle of our constitutional republic at one time. Pretty durn sad!

Correct. It is difficult to move manufacturing. BUT, I know that the officials of the State of Texas will try very hard to help them come.

We need them and they need Texas.

I own a few Stag ARs, called Stag a couple weeks back and they told me then they were looking into moving, considering all the repercussions and discussing possibilities. They didn't take 80 mill like Remington did from N.Y. Stag is working on a new super light 308 AR; man do I want a couple of them. They told me a move would put development on the back burner. Then I thought, maybe a move ain't all that good.

I mean why haven't all the gun owners and conservatives left the super Blue states to the conservative states? I want to see action by these people in the blue states, not may leave.

If they’d move here, I’d go help them pack.

You might find this interesting:

Mike Lee @SenMikeLee 10h (ago)

After discussing #Protect2A on the @marklevinshow the increased traffic crashed my Senate site. The site is up now: http://www.lee.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/protect-2a

Ted Cruz had posted on twitter a link to Mike Lee’s website for input about your experiences supporting the defence of the 2nd Amendment and the response must have been overwhelming. This subject is a winner for the GOP if it does not drop the ball.

I know in our area we’ve had some city officials look at how they can make overtures to some of these companies. We have the business parks with facilities ready to customize to whatever need they have.

The GOP leadership has a defined history of avoiding things that would help our party, for fear of being called names. ie. Racist, homophobic, religious, you name it.

If it was just the states I’d agree with moving ASAP but the feds may make a move useless with them upping regulations to outdo the states on gun control. Could be a matter of if you run, you’ll just die tired.

if Stag gave the go-ahead, Rick Perry would make sure that they'd be up and running by the end of the month.

However, we shouldn't forget that a move like this, like that of the company in Colorado, severely disrupts, if not ruins, the lives of most of the employees, who may not be able to relocate...even assuming that the company offered them jobs there. When another state offers economic development assistance to lure a business, it's to hopefully create new jobs for its residents, and not to import people to the state..
