Tyrant Kim Un Hussein must be very pleased that his efforts to “FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” are progressing so easily.

With Chief Justice Traitor’s opinion upholding 0bamacare, I’d say we are past the point of the Federal government recognizing any limitation on it’s power over the citizen. In fact, the chaos you see in Washington is also caused by no branch of the government respecting any limitation of it’s power over any of the other three branches.

Our Constution is a dead letter, and the Rule of Law died with it.

America's Constitution excluded from the purview of potential elected officials the kind of "power grab" Cruz discusses here, providing within its own Article V the only valid means for amending its provisions.

"...there have always been those who wish to enlarge the powers of the General Government. There is but one safe rule...confine (it) within the sphere of its appropriate duties. It has no power to raise a revenue or impose taxes except for the purposes enumerated in the Constitution....Every attempt to exercise power beyond these limits should be promptly and firmly opposed." - Andrew Jackson's Valedictory

"...experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms (of government), those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny; and it is believed that the most effectual means of preventing this would be, to illuminate...the minds of the people...to give them knowledge of those facts, which history exhibiteth. History, by apprizing them of the past, will enable them to judge of the future...it will qualify them as judges of the actions and designs of men; it will enable them to know ambition under every disguise it may assume; and knowing it, to defeat its views...." - Jefferson's Bill for the more general diffusion of knowledge for Virginia

"Although all men are born free, slavery has been the general lot of the human race. Ignorant--they have been cheated; asleep--they have been surprised; divided--the yoke has been forced upon them. But what is the lesson?...the people ought to be enlightened, to be awakened, to be united, that after establishing a government they should watch over it....It is universally admitted that a well-instructed people alone can be permanently free." - James Madison

When that band of wise and brave men and women in 1776 affirmed their Declaration of Independence from the rule of mere men, asserted their reliance on the "hand of Divine Providence" to guide the affairs over which they presided, acknowledging Creator-endowed life, liberty and law, a new era of liberty burst upon the scene.

Perhaps our appeal and faith should express that same focus and confidence!

For decades, the foundations of liberty have been eroded and replaced with the same old substitutes from which our forefathers escaped in the 17th and 18th Centuries.

"Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it; no constitution, no law, no court even can do much to help it." - Judge Learned Hand

"If I have learned anything from the reading of history, it is that the man who, in violation of great principles, toils for temporary fame, purchases for himself either total oblivion or eternal infamy, while he who temporarily goes down battling for right principles always deserves, and generally secures, the gratitude of succeeding ages, and will carry with him the sustaining solace of a clean conscience, more precious than all the offices and honors in the gift of man." - Sen. Zacharias Montgomery

After Thomas Jefferson, in his First Inaugural, had enumerated the principles which would guide his Administration in his First Inaugural, he added:

"These principles form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and the blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety."

So-called "progressives" of the 20th and 21st Centuries, in their arrogance, have removed (censored) the Founders' ideas of liberty from America's textbooks, but technology has outstripped their efforts. Every American school child and adult now has potential access to almost every word the Founders' spoke and wrote, and their ideas are being rediscovered and circulated in a manner unheard of even 10 years ago, as if by the hand of Divine Providence. Cruz's articulation of the dangers of such attempted invasions into freedoms protected by the Bill of Rights is an example of such renewed understanding.

Enduring principles, according to the Founders were just that--enduring and "self-evident."

The sacred Rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for among old parchments or musty records. They are written as with a sunbeam in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of the divinity itself, and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power>" - Alexander Hamilton

"Kings or parliaments could not give the rights essential to happiness, as you confess those invaded by the Stamp Act to be. We claim them from a higher source - from the King of kings, and Lord of all the earth. They are not annexed to us by parchments and seals. They are created in us by the decrees of Providence, which establish the laws of our nature. They are born with us, exist with us, and cannot be taken from us by any human power, without taking our lives. In short, they are founded on the immutable maxims of reason and justice." - John Dickinson (Signer of the Constitution of the U. S., as quoted in "Our Ageless Constitution, p. 286)

Revolt is coming.

It will come very, very late. It may even succeed, but there won't be much left to rebuild on by then.

Watch for the key phrase “the government is US”.

This is what the left uses to justify that the government should be able to do anything those in power want to do, because it’s “us” doing it.

Obama told us in his campaign before his first election, many things that should have set our ears, and brain to working

Creating his own 'security force' as well armed as our U.S. Army. The thousands of regulations he has created, over our lives, (we still have not seen them), but they are created, Obamacare, and all it means, The thousands he immediately hired in Washington internal revenue and other branches of government and gave everyone a raise. Exploded the numbers on well fare, Immediately going from BILLIONS of Dollars spent; to TRILLION of dollars, spent and given away !!! etc.
A blind person could and did see his intent to destroy America intentionally. All the while he cut our military defense funds, ...

Is it too late to turn this ship of STATE? God knows.

He set my ears to working. But, to no avail as my vote was cancelled out by these people!

Thank you for referencing that article Biggirl. Please bear in mind that my critique against the article is not about you, directly or indirectly.

The main problem with this country is not the unconstitutionally big federal government imo, but voters who are so easily tricked by crooked lawmakers into abusing their voting power as a consequence of widespread voter ignorance of the Constitution. In other words, voters don’t understand that federal lawmakers get themselves elected by making campaign promises which are based on constitutionally nonexistant federal government powers.

So I’m disappointed that, just like Obama guard dog Fx News, Elizabeth Harrington who wrote the referenced article made no attempt to reconnect voters with the Constitution by mentioning in her article the Founding States’ division of federal and state government powers evidenced by the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I, Article V and the 10th Amendment.

Voters need to understand that practically the only constitutional authority that Congress has to regulate any kind of commerce within a state’s borders is to regulate the postal service (Clause 7 of Section 8 of Article I). Most other federal government spending programs within any state are based on constitutionally nonexistant federal government powers, actually 10A-protected state powers which Congress has wrongly stolen from the states; arguably the Founders’ greatest fear.

Wonderful post! I keep posts I like and show to my kids. Can you tell me who said this

“When that band of wise and brave men and women in 1776 affirmed their Declaration of Independence from the rule of mere men, asserted their reliance on the “hand of Divine Providence” to guide the affairs over which they presided, acknowledging Creator-endowed life, liberty and law, a new era of liberty burst upon the scene.”

There was not a name after it so I wasn’t sure of the author- since it was in bold I was assuming it wasn’t your own words.

Thank you for the link. It is obvious Republicans do not get the attention or are ineffective in getting the truth out to the public.

When Sarah Palin was in the mix she gained a tremendous following and attention.

Democrats are very effective in mind control. Many, many, many, vote democrat, being told to always do so cause the Democrats are for the poor persons, and the Republicans are for the rich.

And they were doing this long ago before welfare, and it is embedded in their psyche ... Sarah is/was our hope and for reasons unknown she stepped aside. She is brave and not afraid ... still something changed her mind after her Iowa appearance and on with the bus trip of America. Whatever it was ... it stopped her there ...

No woman would endanger the lives of her children ...

If America finally falls apart or fails, and we survive and some small section or remnant of the country has a chance to start over, I hope that those trying to rebuild will take these thoughts to mind, of some things we could have improved on in the Constitution. Ideas that were shared and written into the Colonial state constitutions, but which were voided when our federal U.S. constition was enacted (Outright stated belief that the country acknowledged the trinitarian God of the Bible as the supreme sovereign, and the Holy Scriptures as the basis of our laws, and faithful membership in a true Christian church as a requirement of voting rights. ) If these things were kept in our constitution the downward spiraling path we are on right now would not be the road we are on.

Thank you, for the link, looks good and I will read it all.

We have turned away from God. That is the first and main cause of our present state of being in America and our government.

Let us repent in truth and return to God Almighty, turning away from the sins, evil of this world, God promises to heal our land when we do so in truth.

That his own Supreme Court appointees shut down the arguments of his own Justice Department says volumes about the 0bama junta.

As far as I can tell, most of Congress and the entire Federal Judiciary believe this, too.
