AP goes PC Again for Muslims

For the second time in just days, Associated Press has redefined a word for its reporters that adopts a politically correct position, this time pleasing Muslim activists with a decision to ban the use of “Islamist” as a synonym for “fighters” and/or “militants.”

Politico’s Dylan Byers noted the change by AP was made “after much prodding from the Council on American-Islamic Relations.”

Wow...first it's the phrase "illegal immigrants" and now this. Reminds me of Orwell's 1984 where they keep re-writing the language to get rid of any words that would allow the people to express any original thought or dissension.

CAIR is a terrorist organisation.

AP is frightened of them.

Just call Islamists MMFers’.

If the word "Islamist" is banned, then one might logically rename the objecting faction as something like "Council for American-Terrorist Relations."

Isn't that a fair exchange when "Islamic" is not permitted?

What is the Associated Press newswire? It is nothing other than a continuous, 24/7 meeting of the important journalists nationwide. Which has been going on since the middle of the Nineteenth Century.
Obviously, per Adam Smith, by this time journalism is nothing but “a conspiracy against the public.” Manifested in propaganda assaults on those who get things done, and against any politician who dares to defend them. And manifested in puffery aimed at politicians who join in the attacks on those who get things done.
