Sovereign citizens may claim they are christians, but all Christians do NOT espouse the claims made by the sovereign citizens.
The sovereign citizen movement is extreme fringe, jailhouse lawyer type stuff.
Bad news.
But that seems confused. Sovereign citizen theory is a form of tax revolt and is closer to anarchy than traditional Christian conservatism. Somebody has muddied the waters here and it needs to be sorted what part of this is ignorance and what part malice forethought. I would not be surprised if the Southern Poverty Law Center was involved.
those who believe America was founded on godly principles
Christians who take the Bible literally
fundamentalists [implied that this term applies to those people who take the Bible “too seriously]
The above three items do NOT make one a sovereign citizen.
Trying to get out of paying all taxes, having no SSN, having no insurance or car registration or driving license, trying to have house title “allodial”, are some of the hallmarks of the sovereign citizen movement.
As I said, very bad.
