John Shaban openly stated he had not received a copy of the bill, despite being scheduled to vote on it the next day.
McKinney couldn't answer a simple question 'what is the penalty if a person fails to register a newly defined assault weapon' after flipping through his printed copy for 10 minutes.
They both voted for the legislation. RINOs.
I was at a Homeschool legislation issues meeting last night in Prospect with Rep. Lezlye Zupkus and she expressed disgust at the way the whole thing went down - she never was able to read the whole thing before the vote, but she read enough to vote NO.
My Rep (Noujaim) called me personally and told me he would vote NO, and he did.
So don’t lose heart - there are still a (small) handful of Republicans with integrity.
What happened to the "most transparent administration" that we were promised?
"Nothing in the bill you voted for would have prevented Newtown. It is a gun grab bill no matter which way you choose to equivocate on this matter.
"You voted to deprive your law abiding constituents of their Constitutionally protected liberty by trying to legislate away the common citizens ability to protect themselves with at least as much firepower as his assailant will be packing who doesnt give a crap about what the laws are in place for the law abiding anyway because he is not law abiding by definition.
"For all your supposed fatherly, lawyerly, gun owning perspective, you really missed the big picture.
"You bent over and let a pack of whimpering media pussies and Democrat fascist jackals steal our Constitutionally protected liberty. You didnt make law abiding Connecticut citizens any safer by restricting the number of bullets WE have to fire at out assailants.
"Hey there gun owner-legislator, youre now only packing 10 rounds you think your burglar wont still be packing 30 or more in his mag when he comes to your house to rape and kill your wife? What turnip truck awarded you your law degree anyway?
"The State of Connecticut has now failed to remain law abiding with respect to the Constitution and the Constitutionality of this law and this law will be challenged and this law will be defeated.
"Thanks for raising the costs for the law abiding and lower our collective safety at the same time.
"Dan Carter got it right. You, Toni and John all got it wrong.
"I will remember your vote and will remind others as well come election time."
FReegards!
I was not aware of that meeting, so I didn’t go, but if I had gone I would have had a hard time controlling my anger at the filthy politicos who refused to stand up for our civil rights.
