Now to address the question you actually asked ...
Most of the people who actually LIVE in DC don’t even work. They are on welfare.
Most of the people who actually WORK in DC, live in the surrounding suburbs in appropriately represented states.
For those who actually work AND live in DC, they should be excused from having to pay any Federal tax at all, except Medicare and Social Security, since they will be able to benefit from that.
Nobody is forcing people to live in DC. If they’re so bothered about the taxation situation there, they can always move.
I agree that Medicare and SS are a separate case. Also, 70% of the workers in DC do come in from outside. On the other hand I was doing some research in another argument and found that DC residents were paying the feds more than 5 times what DC got back from the government a few years ago. Also DC is growing at the rate of about 1,000 people a month.
