I wonder about these powerful hyphenated special interest groups. Just how large are they really? Are they astroturfing with a loud megaphone or are there really large voting blocs of people behind them?

A case in point is the gay lobby. Surveys suggest that gays are less than 2% of the population, but politicians act like they're 25%. What would really happen if our politicians stood up to the megaphone effect and let these supposed groups make good on their threats?

Are they afraid that it would be real after all, or are they afraid of exposing the hollowness of it all?

For sure there’s lotsa hyphenated agit/prop going on-—particularly from the latino lobby.

And they hide behind numerous groups with grand-sounding names.

Bottom-line——they got sap-happy, vote-crazed Pols convinced they get their blocs to the polls.
