U.S. Army lists Evangelical Christianity, Catholicism, "Islamophobia" as "Religious Extremism"

This is the politically manipulative and ridiculous nonsense that has replaced truthful information about Islam and jihad. And the implications of it are quite ominous. Evangelical Christianity, Catholicism and "Islamophobia" are forms of "Religion Extremism" on par with al-Qaeda and Hamas? Then how long will it be before the Obama Administration goes to war against them, as it has repeatedly declared that it is at war with al-Qaeda?

Note also: Obama has repeated many, many times that we are not at war with Islam, and the mainstream media line is that to suggest otherwise would be evidence of "hatred" and "bigotry." But apparently it is not "hatred" and "bigotry" for the U.S. to declare that Catholicism is the same sort of thing as al-Qaeda. Now, the list does include "Sunni Muslims," but specifies those in Iraq -- we already know that there is no possible way that the Obama Administrations means to classify all Sunni Muslims as "extremists." And the list also apparently specifies that only Catholicism in the U.S. is a form of "religious extremism." But that's bad enough: where are the Catholics flying planes into buildings, bombing Baptist churches, and threatening to conquer the nation and subjugate non-Catholics under the rule of church law?

This is not going to end well.

"US Army Labeled Evangelicals, Catholics as Examples of Religious Extremism," by Todd Starnes for Fox News, April 5 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

The U.S. Army listed Evangelical Christianity and Catholicism as examples of religious extremism along with Al Qaeda and Hamas during a briefing with an Army Reserve unit based in Pennsylvania, Fox News has learned.

“We find this offensive to have Evangelical Christians and the Catholic Church to be listed among known terrorist groups,” said Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty. “It is dishonorable for any U.S. military entity to allow this type of wrongheaded characterization.”

The incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism. Topping the list is Evangelical Christianity. Other organizations listed included Catholicism, Al Qaeda, Hamas, the Ku Klux Klan, Sunni Muslims, and Nation of Islam.

The military also listed “Islamophobia” as a form of religious extremism.

This regime suffers from 'Christianphobia' or more likely 'Americaphobia!

Look, I don't claim to be a good Christian, but I'll sure stand beside all the good ones I know! Time to take a break from the prayers, get vocal and demand this nonsense STOP!

But no mention of Moslems as religious extremists.

Only a Moslem would think that way.

RE: Christian Identity

Christian Identity is a label applied to a wide variety of loosely affiliated believers and churches with a white supremacist theology. Most promote a racist interpretation of Christianity.

Wesley Swift (1913–1970) is considered by the FBI to have been the single most significant figure in the early years of the Christian Identity movement. Swift was born in New Jersey, and eventually moved to Los Angeles in order to attend Bible college. It is claimed that he may have been a “Ku Klux Klan organizer and a Klan rifle-team instructor.

RE: Hutaree

Hutaree is a militia movement group adhering to the ideology of the Christian Patriot movement, based near Adrian, Michigan, in the United States. The group was formed in early 2006.

The name “Hutaree” appears to be a neologism; the group’s web site says that it means “Christian warriors”.

The group became widely known in 2010 after the FBI prosecuted them in federal court for an alleged plan for violent revolt. The prosecution said this was to have involved killing a police officer and attacking the funeral with bombs. The presiding judge dismissed these charges. Three members pled guilty to possessing a machine gun and were sentenced to time served.

Forgive the off-topic question, but i can’t find something in searches due to not knowing the spelling... I’m in a debate / conversation with a lib and can’t remember that modern socialist theorist duo that obama follows. (Not alinsky). Its a hyphenated word with both the theorists’ names, i think. It has something in the name like... clivins.. pivins... pickins... ??? Any clue would be much appreciated so i can streamline a search!

Here’s a question that just came to my mind... Knowing quite a number of military men, I am quite sure that a significant number of those in the army are Evangelical and Catholics.

Why the SILENCE on this? They should unite and protest this outrage.

I don’t know, Seek. We’ve heard conspiracy theory about this stuff, but here it is right in our faces. Sometimes I think they are just like us...they just CANNOT believe it to be true. And some of them will sell out to keep their ‘job’.

Wunderful. I’m sure they’ll let the Ft Hood shooter off because he felt oppressed by the Islamaphobes all around him. Those people, extremist Christians all, obviously deserved what they got. [/s]

Surprisingly enough they do include the Nation of Islam. So I assume they consider Farrahkan a terrorist? I agree with that if they do. At least they got a portion of it correct.

That is a evasion of reality and is evidence of irrationality. Because the mohammedans declared holy war on America twice in 1996 and 1998 and attacked us in the embassy bombings in Africa, the Cole, and 911.

Who can believe that mormons, catholics, evangelicals, and orthodox jews are together on a list. Their excuse was “the internet” and that’s hogwash.
