Didn’t Jesus say something about “heaping coals of kindness on those who hate you”....or something like that.
Paul in the Epistle to the Romans quoted Proverbs:
Romans 12:20 (NIV) On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." Proverbs 25:21-22 (NIV) If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.
