“If this all came out of thin air with no motivation, I would tend to agree that people made a choice without appropriate information.”

People have motivation for most every decision they make, but they are still responsible for their decisions. So the panic buyers, regardless of their motivation, are responsible for the shortage.

“Now that it is assumed that the information was faulty, why do you choose to place no fault with those who put such information out?”

If you’re talking about these DHS ammo myths, then whoever put them out is guilty of deceiving people, whether that was intentional or unintentional. I don’t see how they are responsible for the subsequent decisions of adults though.

Also, the stories were known to false very shortly after they were propagated, within days at the latest. Yet, some people, as evidenced by this thread, neglect to verify an outlandish story before believing it, and some even refuse to stop believing and propagating these tall tales after the contrary evidence is handed to them on a silver platter. I’m not going to blame anyone but them for their own gullibility and lack of critical thinking.

“Go back to huffpost.”

Childish taunts don’t win arguments around here, but go ahead and keep making them. They’ll only damage your credibility, not mine.

A healthy distrust of the government by the citizenry is a good thing but it’s getting pretty nutty around here. Some of the cr*p people are posting as fact on this and other sites is really becoming embarrassing. From day one this ammo story, the MRAP buys and the thousands of drones don’t pass the smell test for anybody who actually knows how these things work. Unfortunately these tall tales have really gotten some folks to go over the edge.

The administration certainly doesn’t help itself either by not providing prompt coherent and verifiable (without risking security) answers. Just my 2 cents.
