President Obama told a group of Democratic donors Wednesday night that the children killed in the Newtown, Conn. attack last December were shot with a “fully automatic weapon.”
Speaking to donors at a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser in San Francisco, Obama urged the need for “gun control,” and referred for the first time to an alleged “fully automatic weapon” involved in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, which took the lives of 20 children and 6 adults.

Check the books: if there are current laws that make it extremely difficult to own fully automatic weapons, then no further action is needed (other than enforcing existing law).
He was speaking to a group of Democratic donors. It’s not as if they: (1) care about the truth, or (2) would know the difference between various types of guns, anyway.

OK, Obama — full autos are already essentially banned. So what’s the point with banning semi-autos? (Never mind... I know the answer)

We need a Federal “Defense of the Second Amendment” Act, SPECIFICALLY limiting what these nutjob state legislatures and governors can do to eviscerate our rights.
Exactly: It was an obvious mistake because he doesn’t know the difference.
Our boy isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
He knows as much about guns as he does healthcare and that is not much.
Pity is he knows even less about foreign affairs. The only thing he is relly good at is writing government checks for his friends the Muslim Brotherhood.

All they know is that the American people are armed and
that limits what the government can do to them. Remember,
the full faith and credit of the federal government is it’s
ability to tax it’s citizens directly. The right to bear arms
is what keeps them from taking everything.

Cut the Prez some slack! He is after all a DEMOCRAT! If he had a choice between a lie and the truth the lie always comes first!
Was it a lie, or a freudian slip? There was initial confusion about the weapons used. It also appears there are kits to modify the Bushmaster to operate full auto. And I know this is gruesome to consider, but each child was hit several times. Targets move, even when hit by the first bullet. Is it possible detailed ballistic analysis would show the bullets were impacting a single location too quickly for a semi-auto?
So maybe he just had a lucid moment. I say keep an open mind. Facts, as they say, are stubborn things.
