“What in the name of Pete is “The Ripon Society”?”

I’ve never heard of that one before, but it’s obviously some sort of Republican think-tank or advocacy group, as the Republican Party was founded in Ripon, Wisconsin.

The Badger State: birthplace of both the Republican Party and the American League.

The commonly accepted history is that the Republican Party was founded in Ripon, Wisconsin in 1854.

The Ripon Society is a group that has consistently advocated through the decades for a liberal Republican Party.
