Last week, the Society of Actuaries warned about sticker shock ahead for individuals and families buying health insurance.
How did the White House respond? In its usual Orwellian fashion, saying healthcare costs are falling thanks to the reform law. Falling is correct only if youre standing on your head.
President Obama repeatedly promised that insurance exchanges will save families up to $2,300 a year. He couldnt possibly have believed it. From day one, it was obvious the law would push up premiums. Thats because it requires insurers to cover services rarely covered in the past, puts sick people in the same risk pool with the healthy, and slaps insurers with $100 billion in taxes to pass along to consumers.
Who will be clobbered by high premiums? Everyone buying insurance on the exchanges: people who customarily buy their own insurance (about 25 million) plus people currently uninsured who will have to get it beginning in 2014, and finally millions of people whose employers will drop coverage in response to the laws costly requirements. Milliman predicts, 67 million people in all by 2017.

It’s becomming more obvious that Obamacare is a trainwreck.
The White House dismisses concerns about rising premiums, saying consumers with moderate incomes will get subsidies. Thats like arguing that its okay for food prices to double, because the needy can get food stamps.
0bamacare isn’t a trainwreck; it’s a B-17 raid on the rail yard. And it was planned to be that all along. The whole idea was to wreck the system and use the chaos to herd everyone into the single-payer collective farm.
“Its becoming more obvious that Obamacare is a train wreck.”
One columnist yesterday said that probably the best way to kill it is to let them continue to “implement” it! Even the LIV’s are finally going to get the picture that way!
The “herd” is resisting.
It is cheaper to pay the penalty than to get health insurance. I am uninsurable (thanks to Blue Cross flagging me as fraudulent for misspelling a word - they have since been sued but I and many others are still flagged) normally but found 3 companies who would insure me for 3000/month with a 10k deductible.

Civil protests in Washington before that against this disaster. How can this country sit by and watch this $h%t?
They don’t know yet, and they won’t so long as they get their news from the main networks. Not until something horrific happens to a family member.
Until then they want to believe the government is giving them something free.
You hit the nail right on the head. These Marxists know exactly what they are doing. The people are just "useful idiots" and their suffering or extermination is necessary for the greater cause. (Read: Their own personal power and control)
The major problems with the healthcare industry in America has the same roots as the housing bubble had. The federal government stuck its nose into the business and screwed it all up.
The optimum system would be much like car insurance. We pay for the “routine repairs” and “checkups” out of pocket but have catastrophic insurance for those really bad days. I am not a doctor, but I play one on TV.
For those of you inclined to send me money for such sage advice, FReepmail me.
Another stick it to the rich program.
Obama is videotaped saying that very thing, that he believes in single payer, but here we won’t get it immediately.
That would be virtually impossible in a country this size. Any attempt would make the Obamamess look good by comparison.
