I lived very rural. Very white. Very Wisconsin.

I attended a school board meeting where ways to improve on ACT and SAT were being discussed. I suggested that the four bars serving a town of 1,100 souls should close from 4:00PM until 7:00PM so parents would be home to help kids with homework and have dinner. You might have thought I committed a felony! My crime was to ask people to do for themselves what is their responsibility. I was not very popular after that.

I was however moved up in the ranking by the good teachers in the district. So I had that going for me................

No its not. I'm seeing an increasingly rabid strain of white kids in the news these days and the reasons are the same.

You did commit a crime against liberty. You suggested forcing folks to do the right thing, and suggesting that folks without kids also change their behavior in communal solidarity.

Do you really think that folks shut out of happy hour won't drink anyway?
