1.5 million? where’d you pull that number from? NRA membership is around 5 million.

It averages about 1.5 million. I didn’t pull it out of my Secret Agent Man if that’s what you’re asking.

Listen, Think, no one, nobody has come up with an idea to take guns out of the hands of “criminals”, just law abiding citizens.

Read the linked article and the NRA’s followup. Hutchinson was saying the present background check could be improved by better entry of felon and mentally prohibited data, not expansion to private sales and transfers. The media was jumping on one part of his statements to distort his meaning. The NRA responded to say whatever he may say, it was not official NRA policy.

Butt head mistake.

The NRA better get everyone on the same page or things could get ugly.

It looks like most here just read the headline and not the article. They didn’t even note what was said in the above comment about “Therefore, Hutchinson’s support for expanding background checks sounds more like support for the federal government to enforce the laws they already have on the books. We already know that federal agencies do almost no follow-up on failed background checks, and Joe Biden claims it’s because they don’t have the resources to do so. (read the rest at source)”.

It sure doesn’t sound like his comment is reflected in the headline.

I support enforcement of current laws too, and see many of the 22,000 + laws that should be done away with.

That’s no surprise. The NRA recently had no interest in fighting the disarming and threats of prison to the huge numbers of men and women accused (not convicted) of domestic violence in one state (often cases involving property disputes, kids, pride, etc.). The Republican Party has no interest in shutting down the VAWA (same kind of laws there). They’ll disarm us all beginning with smaller subgroups like the aforementioned accused and make firearms and ammunition too expensive for most (see insurance scheme, supply schemes, etc.).

Try Gun Owners of America. There are also GOA affiliates in some of the states.

Hutchinson's words:
"I hope Congress can look at a way to do better in having good records in the NICS system, or the system that does the background checks,...Yes. Absolutely. I’m open to expanding background checks if you can do it within a way that does not infringe upon an individual and make it hard for an individual to transfer to a friend or a neighbor,"

Waffle, waffle. Any more compromises will be infringements, and he knows it. Most previous compromises were infringements. Many cases of enforcement are infringements.

No new gun control laws. Repeal all of the bad laws already in statutes. Make your statement, and make your stand. Go only with “no compromise” Second Amendment support organizations.

The NRA has written and backed every major gun control law for over 100 years.
