Climate Maverick to Quit NASA (James Hansen)
The New York Times ^ | April 1, 2013 | Justin Gillis

Posted on 04/01/2013 7:01:59 PM PDT by Rocky

James E. Hansen, the climate scientist who issued the clearest warning of the 20th century about the dangers of global warming, will retire from NASA this week, giving himself more freedom to pursue political and legal efforts to limit greenhouse gases. Science Times Podcast

Marveling at the efficiency of a killer in the skies and NASA’s household name on climate change takes his fight for the earth’s future into retirement.

His departure, after a 46-year career at the space agency’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies in Manhattan, will deprive federally sponsored climate research of its best-known public figure.

The conclusion none of the AGW folks want to reach is quite simple ~ that the old ground and sea based temperature measurement stations produced garbage data.

The modern satellite based systems started up about 20 years back ~ maybe a little more if you add in the CIA and Air Force intelligence satellite systems. These systems report an incredibly stable temperature apparently unaffected by CO2 levels.

With the implosion of the AGW charade, Hansen has seen the writing on the wall and is taking the money and running. I would not be surprised if he has a very nicely accommodated vacation home on some obscure Pacific island to retire to where nobody can find him except, maybe, Al Gore.

Indeed. While still an Iowa teen he was studying with fellow Iowan James Van Allen who was doing NASA stuff before there was actually a NASA!

If Hansen had gone to Iowa State instead of leftist outhouse hole University of Iowa, he would have been a decent human being.

Yes, it is pretty nauseating to see the NYT glorify this bag of wind. But what do you expect from the Slimes?

Almost every sentence in the article is dishonest. Hansen is not a scientist. Hansen has been wrong about everything he said. He pushed the fraudulent global warming agenda and demanded political action.

‘I wonder if he ever did anything useful for them.’

He will forever be known for ending the NASA manned space program. Way to go Jimmy baby.

At least there is money for reparations now.

giving himself more freedom to pursue political and legal efforts to limit greenhouse gases.

Yeah, right. He is just licking his chops after seeing the bag of loot that Algore has made peddling his charade. As a willing accomplice, he is just wanting his fair share.

Algore knew how to make some real money off of the deal. Hansen may get some speaking fees, and maybe he's written a book (did he? - if so, I'm sure it sold at least a hundred copies), but he is a pauper compared to Algore. There must be some professional jealousy.

Not a bad retirement at all but folks it ain't a golden parachute either!

Isn't Hansen the one (of the US GW frauds) that got funding from Soros to "polish" his image, delivery, and story?

Not exactly early retirement. The guy is 72, and has worked for NASA almost 50 years. I imagine his gubbermint pay and retirement funds have added up to quite a lot. Plus, he gets big speaking fees, I’m sure.

He'll likely drop dead while doing during his first Metamucil commercial.

This is a relatively accurate definition of the word maverick as used by the MSM. Remember now, they change the meanings of words with newspeak.

A government employee who acts and lies as if they are going up against the government, but in reality they are just brainwashing a group of citizens into a position the government wants them to occupy.

James E. Hansen, the climate scientist who issued the clearest warning of the 20th century about the dangers of global warming, will retire from NASA this week...NASA..NASA...oh yeah, isn't that the group that failed to spot a meteor a month or so ago until it entered earth's atmosphere and almost obliterated Russia - like I believe that Hansen and his cronies can predict what the temperature's going to be in fifty years.....
