BREMERTON, Wash. A large scale criminal organization targeting gun owners homes for robberies and then reselling the guns to methamphetamine dealers was recently uncovered in Kitsap County, Bremerton police reported Monday.
According to Bremerton police, five suspects were arrested after a single residential burglary uncovered a complex crime ring where the suspects used inside information to target gun-owning victims.
Joseph Peck, 29, of Bremerton, is being charged in federal court, and four other West Sound men being held in state custody have not been officially charged. Three additional arrests from unrelated crimes were made during the investigation that started in October 2012 when police became aware of the criminal organization.

AGH. Pet Peeve—please put *state* name in parentheses in headline!!
My Sheriff is my local police, I'm outside city limits (thankfully). I stand with my Sheriff too, he is a big 2A supporter.
I like that. Police have rules, procedures they have to follow. Me, I just have to have a few minutes to set a believable scene for them to find.
That's what I was thinking. Send in your paperwork and someone at the other end sends your address to the thieves.
“What does insider information even mean?? It would have to be some kind of government list of gun owners.”
I believe that Washington state keeps a database of gun owners...he just needed to access it.
So... am I to understand that these individuals did NOT apply for permits and did not bother to carry ID or other credentials giving them the government’s permission to carry firearms????
I find that very difficult to believe.
