I forget who said it, but it went something like “The worst thing for any entertainer to do is voice their opinion on politics because right there they will lose half their audience no matter what side they take”. Absolutely absolutely true. Look at Oprah for example endorsing Obama. Boom, overnight half her audience was gone. Same with Rosie ODonnell, overnight no more career. These people are freakin’ morons.

About celebrities losing half their audiences... Case in point is Conan O’Brien. I thought the guy was hilarious before he became super-democrat. Now I can’t watch him. I’d rather watch a Seinfeld rerun than hear him STILL ripping on Sarah Palin. I swear the guy is on the democrat payroll. His job: remind people just before they fall asleep that Republicans aren’t cool.

I read a few days ago that it was Johnny Carson who made that statement once, when he was asked about his political affiliation.
