So you deny you’re making the accusation, and then you straight out make it again. I used it as an example that even on the point of impact, you’re not going to be doomed for all eternity. And then consider the way the fallout actually disperses! If even the initial strike area is going to be OK (except if you happened to be standing outside when it struck and not in a shelter) over time, and even within the next couple of weeks, then it stands to follow that fallout for places even nearby will be manageable and not the end of the world.
I’m not sure why you guys got so hostile to begin with. Maybe I shouldn’t have made lite of the long term effects, which, by the way, you are susceptible to even just walking around (we are bombarded by radiation constantly. In fact, I’ve even known friends who freaked out that a dirty bomb went off because they detected a big spike in radiation.) minding your own business. But, you guys must actually believe those old propaganda movies where the nukes are making everybody’s hair fall off even when they were probably hundreds of miles away from the actual blast and fallout, or that after all is said and done you’re going to have mutants walking around and that you can’t live in those places ever again.
A nuclear war is certainly survivable, and if we nuke North Korea, the South is going to be just fine.
You should have respect for those with some knowledge on the topic and not getting offended just because you disagree, though I am no expert. Just someone who happens to read from time to time. That’s why I supported my statements with no less than 3 links all saying the same thing as me.
In the classes I attended... POI of a nuke was a really, really bad place to be. Most people, pigs, boats, whatever, tended to turn into radioactive dust.
Nukes do that. Blow stuff to bitty bitty bits. I wouldn't worry about radioactive fallout if I was blown into something that resembled burnt creamed corn.

That's where you made your first mistake. YOU THOUGHT we believed those movies - YOU brought up the movies, YOU ASSUMED and you shouldn't assume what another writer thinks until that writer says that. Don't “assume” on FR. Those movies are YOUR bias, you have mentioned them at least twice, so YOU are stuck in them, not us.
