Flashback: When even liberals backed ‘traditional marriage’

Even as Democratic lawmakers rush to announce their support for gay marriage, a look back at the congressional debate over the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996 shows they haven't always championed the rights of same sex couples.

((snip))

"I am not for same-sex marriage. I have said that publicly. I would not vote for same-sex marriage," Kerry, now U.S. secretary of state, said.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California made a similar point. "I personally believe that the legal institution of marriage is the union between a man and a woman," she said. "But, as a matter of public policy, I oppose this legislation."

Here’s how it goes. The King speaks and everyone falls in line. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Liberals and Democrats never supported traditional marriage. At times they took public positions that were expedient while at the same time they told their homosexual backers that they were really working for them.

Democrats are often two faced and dishonest. They have never supported Christian values or traditional marriage.

Right you are TM. And the king only changed his position on the issue because Crazy Joe Biden stuck his foot in his mouth.

“I am a fierce supporter of domestic-partnership and civil-union laws. I am not a supporter of gay marriage as it has been thrown about...

The left hides its true agenda while they work to establish the environment in which they can successfully implement it. Same thing is happening with gun control.

It’s a successful tactic, and while it may be distasteful, one we had better start using ourselves if we want to win any of these battles.

They supported it because it would create votes for them. It is becoming unpopular now with the liberals so they are against marriage being only between a man and woman because they are looking for the new votes.

“Here’s how it goes. The King speaks and everyone falls in line. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Now we just have to identify the king; it certainly isn’t Obama (who clearly did not support “gay marriage”). Find the operator of the teleprompter, and you’ve found the king.

When the democrats decided to remove God or any reference to Our Creator at their 2012 convention. They also demonstrated they are no longer the democratic party of your father’s father. They have become a hyphenated radical unit and should be known as Demo-Coms dedicated to the establishment of a collective idealism using the device of PCP (politically correct politics) to modify behavior and shed beliefs that they believe would impede remaking their concept of the perfect utopian state. That is hardly democratic because the word democrat idealizes the individual voice.

So why should what they’re doing now be such a surprize? Every die hard follower of this party should be shown the finger.

This is how the dims get their majority.
The democrat party is a mix of small special interest groups.

Each group supports the others and in return get support. They don’t have to actually believe in the others cause.

The repubs on the other hand fight among themselves and denounce one another over a sometimes single issue .

I got a feeling there are quite a few “kings”. No doubt there are some strings tied to this guy. It seems even Biden is more on his own than obama. Biden speaks and obama changes his mind. But Hillary and Billy have to let obama speak first.
