After bankruptcy, a buyout by a Chinese firm, and more than a hundred million dollars in taxpayer money, the lithium-ion battery maker A123 Systems, Inc., is getting a new name: B456 Systems, Inc.
A123, which produces batteries used in electric cars, has changed its name to B456, the company announced Thursday in a regulatory filing.
The company filed for bankruptcy in October of last year and was later purchased by Chinese firm Wanxiang.
The Department of Energy awarded A123 a $249 million grant in 2009, of which the battery maker had received $133 million when it filed for bankruptcy.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
The name will fool the low information folks....
Yep! They can’t make the connection from A123 to B456.
I got dibs on C789!
I got dibs on C789!
He chose B456 because B459 was already taken....... years ago
“I got dibs on C789!”
If we get to your “dibbs,” it will mean that the Chinks have stolen more of the taxpayer’s money.
I like “BOHICA 2013” better.
I’m starting to see a pattern here.
So they’ll get another grant, declare bankruptcy, and change their name to C789.
That’s what I get for typing on a phone.
..or maybe:
Yeah, ACORN branches renamed themselves, too.
Can I have F451?
Planning ahead for the next one. B for bankrupt.
When do we just start lynching the politicians and bureaucrats who are selling us out? They are laughing in our faces right now. They don’t even try to hide the corruption anymore because they own the LIV plantation slaves and those people outnumber the thinking humans.
As you age, the fringes of memory fray.
I had Jr. Samples on my mind
I figured, and posted the pic for reference.
I was privileged to know many of the GOO folk, including the grandaddy, Porter Wagoner. I was managing Watermelon Park in Berryville, VA and set up a Bluegrass fest to raise funds for American Cancer Society, following the owners death from cancer. The Memorial fund raised more than $100 k thanks to his help rounding up the old acts, and finding a master of ceremonies from NC.
They had stopped having anything but Gospel Festivals, after a shooting in 1873 by a Pagan Motorcycle gang member at a Merle Haggard show. John Miller (Sr., RIP) went onto the stage and told everyone to go home, that it was finished.
But they have annual events now, and it is again a popular place for that type of sounds. John joined with Bill Monroe in the 60's to hold one of the first "Bluegrass Festivals".
John Miller, Jr , Carlton Haney, John Miller, Sr, on right!
... Watermelon Park has been host to many, Bluegrass and Country Music Festivals in years past, featuring some of the biggest artists in the music industry. The short list includes... BTW....... I’m east tennesse kayaker. I was going to start next back week but need to check to see if the ice is gone from the lake.
My kayak is still on the rack, still wrapped in the tarp.
I think I will put the new line on my fly reel this weekend however.
I go twice a week, paddle a little, fish a little for two hours.
It is truly great exercise
