I agree with you on the shortages. However, since I have a very accurate Mosin-Nagant M44, I am loading up on 7.62 X 54. Right now it is cheaper than reloanding. So.....
Every trip to Sportsman's Warehouse I grab a box or 2 or 3 or so depending on how many I can get the cashier to let me have.
Good round and a accurate rifle could keep food on the table if TSHTF. If not, what the heck it is fun to shoot.

I like the Moisin Nagant. I have an M39 which was rebarrelled and restocked in Finland, and it shoots great. There is nothing wrong with shooting that old corrosive commie ammo as long as you clean it afterwards. There is also nothing wrong with getting a can full of 440 rounds of high powered rifle ammo cheap, in the middle of a shortage.

As a matter of fact, several years ago we had a "virtual shooting match" on FR when someone volunteered to be the focal point and mailed paper targets to interested participants. We all put them out at 100 yards on the honor system and fired our groups, then mailed the targets back to the person who started it. He then posted the results.

I used my M39 and questionable eyes/glasses, with Wolf ammo.
