These days, kids are so interconnected and lazy that many of their formerly-workable solutions are falling completely flat because kids are fickle.

I'm not so sure. History has shown kids take to fascism like ducks to water - especially if they are products of a school system that imparts zero critical thinking skills. Give them a chance to win a free XBox cartridge for turning in their gun-stashing parents and they'll go for it every time.
