Good shot, but not too bright if he thought he could get away with it - I'm sure so "civic minded" citizen turned him in. When I lived in upstate NY I heard a shot, looked out the window and saw a guy getting out of a pickup and a down deer on the side of the road in front of the apt building. He dragged the deer into the truck and drove off. I kind of though he was an asshole for shooting in front of an apt building, but it never occurred to me to try and turn him in. Deer are a nuisance, and I was glad to see one of the one that waited alongside the road waiting to jump in front of my car gone.
