...while an Arizona men’s polo shirt is now $14, up from $9...

The fit will be just as wrong and the fabric just as cheap at either price point. :)

Now what could go wrong with:

  1. driving off the customer base you once had? and
  2. driving off the replacement customers which you gained by jettisoning the former?

Sounds like the perfect business strategy to me! < / sarcasm >

The two JC stores in our general area are like ghost towns. Their floors are absent merchandise. Look empty. The men’s suit section of our closest one has dried up to two Ben Matlock gray suits.

I have always thought JC Penney’s inventory was of “above average” quality. But, I hadn’t been in one of their stores for about a year.

The other day my wife and I went to one and we were both appalled at the low quality of the merchandise. Yes, the prices were lower, but the quality seemed to be of K-Mart, no below K-Mart quality. We left without purchasing anything.

I used to go to JC Penney’s expecting the prices to be somewhat higher, but with good quality stuff. No so anymore, at least at the one we went too a few days ago.

yeah! The store is in trouble and RAISING PRICES will help!

The problem is the dumbass lowered them without bothering to explain it to the public.

I uised to go there, but usually only when I saw somethign in a sales ad.

So he cancelled sales ads- I dont think I have been there since.

But if there would have been an advertising blitz saying “here’s what we did” then I might have gone just to check it out.

We used to shop there before the fair and square change. Sorry, but they just completely botched that and clearly should have done more research. People hated the change, and it was complicated.

And while I find Ellen funny and didn’t care they hired her, I have been annoyed at their ads throwing the homosexual lifestyle in my face showing gay couples etc.

"Pay not attention to the gasping and wretching of the people, Sire. Must be a sales issue."

JCPenney presents: The Emperor's New Clothes.

With Ellen DeGeneres as the Emperor.

A bikini top under the retailer’s Arizona label was hiked to $24 from $15

I am well aware of topless beachs, now bottomless?

Ah, the Apple Genius, at it again.

JCP’s board should be run out on a rail with this guy.

Apple is what happens to cults when their leaders die. It is so strange to see the pockets of sway the Apple apostles have among the ignorant out there pretending to lead people, like they do in companies from time to time.

What was it Goethe said?

“There is nothing so terrifying than ignorance in action.”

Something like that.

The JC Penny here is so empty that you can just walk in and urinate on the floor. It isn’t even illegal. This libtard “CEO” is a buffoon.

It’s a trifle difficult to achieve goals if you keep changing them or don’t even have them.

Was at my local JCP yesterday and bought 13 long-sleeved shirts and sweatshirts (mostly to donate to homeless men for Christmas later this year). Original prices were all at least $40/item. With a $10 discount for a purchase over $25, got them all for just under $60, or $5/item plus tax.
