Hundreds of young illegal immigrants across North Carolina took advantage of their first chance Monday to apply for the privilege to drive a car.
The state Division of Motor Vehicles began issuing driver’s licenses to immigrants enrolled in a federal program that defers deportation for teens and young adults who were brought to the United States illegally as children or stayed illegally after their visas expired.
More than 16,500 immigrants in North Carolina have received or applied for two-year work permits from the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Monday was the first day DMV accepted these work permits as proof – required for noncitizens – of a driver’s “legal presence” in the state.

The state Division of Motor Vehicles says it processed 314 applications statewide on Monday to young people who qualified under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The Obama administration initiative extends valid federal work permits to qualified applicants brought to the U.S. as children without authorization.
The state DMV last Friday abandoned plans for a special pink-striped license. The new licenses being issued are for a limited term and state in bold red letters that the holder has no lawful status in the country.

Basically they understand that illegals are going to become government dependents, and many of those will find a way to vote Democrat.
They are not immigrants (which assumes legality). They are criminals.

Currently the NC legislature is 77–43 and the senate is 33-17 GOP. The Gov and LtGov are GOP also.

8 years is a limited term? They are only here for 2 years right now.
